BREAKING NEWS: FINISH COURT APPROVES SIMON EKPA EXTRADITION

Agbedeyi Desmond reports from Asaba, Delta State

A Finnish court has approved the extradition of Simon Ekpa, a Finnish-Nigerian separatist agitator, to Nigeria. Ekpa, who claims to be the "Prime Minister" of the self-proclaimed Biafra Republic Government-in-Exile, is accused of inciting unrest and violence in southeastern Nigeria. He allegedly leads a fringe group called "Autopilot," linked to the Biafra Liberation Army (BLA), which has been blamed for violent activities in the region.

Ekpa was arrested in Finland in November 2024 and faces charges including incitement, terrorism, and conspiracy. The Nigerian government presented evidence under the Rome Statute to secure the extradition, which is set for July 15. The Finnish court ruling marks a significant development in the case, and Ekpa's upcoming trial in Nigeria is expected to draw global attention.
