# Public Hearing Notice: Ad-Hoc Committee on Crude Oil Theft

The Ad-Hoc Committee on Crude Oil Theft, chaired by Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, invites all stakeholders and the general public to a 2-day public hearing. The hearing aims to investigate the incessant and nefarious acts of crude oil theft in the Niger Delta and the actors involved.

# New Hearing Dates:

- *Date:* 15th to 16th May 2025

- *Time:* (2.00 PM on Thursday and 10.00AM on Friday)

- *Venue:* Senate Conference Room 022, Senate New Building, National Assembly Complex, Abuja.

The committee seeks to address the significant issue of crude oil theft, which has severe environmental and economic impacts on the Niger Delta region. Stakeholders, including government agencies, security agencies, local communities, and oil companies, are expected to participate in the hearing.

# Purpose:

The public hearing will:

- Investigate the involvement of security forces, militia groups, local communities, and oil company employees in crude oil theft

- Discuss ways to curb theft and vandalism

- Explore mechanisms for conflict resolution and protection of oil pipeline infrastructure

All interested parties are cordially invited to attend and participate in the public hearing.
