VP Shettima Presents APC Flag to Delta Governor Oborevwori
Vice President Kashim Shettima has presented the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, following the governor's defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Shettima described the defection as a "political tsunami of monumental proportion," noting that it was unprecedented in the South-South region.
The Vice President urged Governor Oborevwori to align with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda and implement the MORE Agenda. APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje praised Oborevwori's leadership, stating that the defection was in the best interest of Delta State.
Oborevwori assured that factions within the APC in Delta State no longer exist, and the party is now united. He urged Deltans to support President Tinubu and APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
The defection was massive, with the Deputy Governor, Speaker of the State Assembly, and other officials joining the APC. Former Delta Governor Ifeanyi Okowa explained that the move was to align with the ruling party and upscale development in the state.
Progressive Governors Forum Chairman Hope Uzodinma commended Oborevwori's leadership and predicted that the alignment with APC would bring meaningful empowerment and economic benefits to Delta State.
