BLDR PROF. ACHUENU EMMANUEL CELEBRATES NIGERIAN WORKERS ON WORKERS’ DAY

As the world marks Workers’ Day, also known as International Labour Day, the Rector of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, Bldr. Professor Achuenu Emmanuel, has extended warm felicitations to all Nigerian workers, applauding their invaluable contributions to national development.
In a heartfelt message, Prof. Achuenu described Nigerian workers as the backbone of the country's progress and resilience, noting that their hard work, dedication, and perseverance in the face of challenges continue to drive the nation forward. He emphasized the importance of celebrating the labor force whose daily efforts keep various sectors of the economy functioning.
Specifically, the Rector expressed profound appreciation to the staff of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku. He commended their commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and the smooth running of the institution, especially during challenging times. According to him, “The strength of any institution lies in the dedication of its workforce, and I am proud of the exemplary service, professionalism, and team spirit demonstrated by our staff.”
Prof. Achuenu reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to staff welfare and continuous improvement of working conditions. He called for sustained collaboration and unity as the polytechnic pursues its vision of becoming a centre of excellence in technical and vocational education.
“As we celebrate this year’s Workers’ Day, let us remember that our collective efforts matter. Let us remain united, innovative, and focused on building a better future for our students, our institution, and our country,” he said.
Workers’ Day is celebrated globally on May 1st to honor the contributions of workers and to advocate for fair labor practices. In Nigeria, it serves as a moment of reflection and recognition of the labor force’s pivotal role in nation-building.
