Fated Paths: A love story. How I Met My Wife
By Prince Agbedeyi O. D.
Everyone loves a good love story—especially one that begins in the most unexpected way and ends in a home filled with peace, joy, and God’s blessings. This is my story.
It all began one ordinary day at Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, where I work as a lecturer. A young woman walked in, seeking help to purchase an admission form. Her name was Stephen Ebiwaresuode Rita. I offered my assistance without thinking much of it. But something about her lingered—something I couldn't quite explain.
Weeks later, I walked into my lecture hall and saw her again—this time as one of my students in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management. I hadn’t known she got the admission, and she hadn’t mentioned it. But there she was. Destiny, it seemed, had quietly done its work.
Over time, my admiration grew into something deeper. I began to have dreams—vivid and frequent—showing us together, connected, inseparable. I believed these dreams were divine signs. They gave me the boldness to finally express my feelings to her.
But she said no.
I won’t lie—it hurt. But I wasn’t ready to give up on what I knew in my heart. So I turned to others. My sister Victoria pleaded my case. My colleague, Dr. Ochuko, spoke to her. Even some of my students, along with her sisters and uncle, helped to bridge the gap. Love had made me a fighter, and I was ready to fight respectfully and prayerfully.
Then one day, she said yes.
That "yes" changed everything. From that moment, we began to build something beautiful together. And today, we are blessed beyond measure.
Rita and I are proud parents to five amazing children: Destiny, Divine, Daniel, Dominion, and Donald. Together, we’ve created a Christian home—a peaceful haven filled with faith, love, laughter, and happiness. Our journey hasn’t always been easy, but it has been guided by God and fueled by unwavering love.
Looking back, I’m thankful I didn’t give up. Because sometimes, the best love stories begin with a simple act of kindness—and a heart willing to wait
