Asaba, Delta State — In a resounding voice of support and commendation, Prince Agbedeyi Odimientimi Desmond, a Principal Lecturer at Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku and a renowned development advocate and activist, has hailed the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, and the entire 8th Assembly on the occasion of their second anniversary in office.

Speaking from Ogwashi-Uku, Prince Agbedeyi described the legislative progress under the current Assembly as “visionary, people-centered, and development-driven,” praising the Speaker and members for their commitment to effective governance, inclusive representation, and responsive lawmaking.

“What we are witnessing today in the Delta State House of Assembly is not just legislative function but active transformation. From education to healthcare, security to infrastructure, the 8th Assembly under Speaker Guwor has continued to pass bills and motions that touch the heart of the average Deltan,” Agbedeyi stated.

The outspoken lecturer and grassroots mobilizer emphasized that development must not be left to the executive alone, and applauded the synergy between the Assembly and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration. He noted that the Speaker's leadership style has restored public confidence in the legislative arm, with visible results across the three senatorial districts of the state.

As someone who has consistently used both the classroom and community engagement to drive policy conversations and grassroots enlightenment, Prince Agbedeyi urged the lawmakers to continue on the path of accountability, transparency, and service to the people.

He further called on Deltans to support their representatives and stay actively involved in governance, reminding citizens that “true democracy thrives when the people are awake.”
