Akure, Ondo State – In a ceremony defined by solemnity and significance, Comrade Lawrence Tibi-ebi Steven was officially sworn in yesterday as Non-Executive Board Member (Part-Time) of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC).

The appointment, widely celebrated across the oil-rich communities of Ondo State, is being hailed as “the beginning of a new era.”

“Today, history calls and I have answered,” Steven declared during his impassioned acceptance speech.

“This is not just a personal milestone. It is a solemn responsibility to uplift lives, empower communities, and drive meaningful development across our oil-producing areas.”

A well-known figure in grassroots advocacy and community development, Comrade Steven wasted no time in articulating a clear and visionary agenda—one rooted in justice, inclusion, and transformative progress. He emphasized that his presence on the board is not ceremonial.

“I am not here to warm a seat. I am here to work with the Governor selflessly and relentlessly for the development of our region, to give voice to the voiceless, and to make governance truly people-centered,” he vowed.

Steven attributed his journey and success to divine grace, offering heartfelt gratitude to God Almighty for guiding him through the political trenches to a place of meaningful impact.

He also extended deep appreciation to His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Executive Governor of Ondo State, for the confidence reposed in him.

“Your confidence in me is not misplaced, and I shall justify it with staunch dedication,” he affirmed.

“I will champion inclusive governance, sustainable development, and accountability in all spheres of my duty, in line with the Governor’s OUR EASE Agenda.”

Acknowledging the efforts of his political family, APC comrades, and loyal supporters, Steven saluted all who stood beside him through the journey of service and struggle. A special recognition was reserved for the Planning Committee of the swearing-in, notably Chief (Barr.) Dio Michael, whom he described as “a pillar of this triumph.”

“This is the beginning of a new era. The journey ahead will be demanding, but with God, the people, and the truth on our side, we will prevail.”

As the oil-producing communities of Ondo State look ahead with optimism, all eyes are now on Comrade Steven—to not just speak change, but to embody it.
