In what can only be described as a bold statement of political relevance and regional influence, the high-powered delegation of Team Ozigibility, led by its Chairman, Comrade Iwabi Manah, and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Utanghan Ebikontei, stormed Ondo State on Monday to attend the official inauguration of the new Executive Board of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC).
The ceremony, which drew attention from political stakeholders and development advocates across the Niger Delta, saw Hon. (Prince) Biyi Poroye installed as the substantive Chairman of OSOPADEC. The Board inauguration is being hailed as a reset button for development in oil-producing communities, especially with the caliber of appointees unveiled.
Of particular significance was the appointment of a frontline Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) stalwart and respected grassroots mobilizer, Comrade Lawrence Tibi-ebi Steven, as a Non-Executive Member of the Board — a move that has reverberated through Ijaw territories and beyond.
Speaking to journalists at the venue, Comr. Iwabi Manah declared:
“This appointment is not a token; it’s a strategic placement. The Ijaw nation is no longer begging for a seat at the table, we are occupying it with authority, competence, and vision.”
He went on to applaud His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the executive Governor of Ondo State, for his youth-centered governance and foresight in assembling a board that reflects inclusiveness and competence.
“Team Ozigibility stands firmly behind Comrade Steven. His voice is our voice. His presence on the board is a reminder that the Ijaw people are a central pillar in the oil discourse, not an afterthought,” Comr. Iwabi emphasized.
The show of force by Team Ozigibility at the inauguration sent a clear message — the Ijaw Nation is organized, connected, and ready to influence policy from within. The group reaffirmed their unwavering support for Hon. Poroye’s leadership, urging him to steer OSOPADEC toward tangible grassroots impact while ensuring no community is left behind.
Observers say the appointment of Comrade Steven, backed strongly by Team Ozigibility, is not just a political inclusion — it's a strategic insertion of vision, activism, and indigenous accountability into the OSOPADEC engine room.
As the new board settles in, all eyes are now on what comes next. And for the Ijaw youths, the message is loud and clear: they’re not waiting to be remembered — they’ve already arrived.
