PAINFUL EXIT! 😭😭😭 Captain Federal Atigbi Bows Out: Ofunama, Egbema, and the Niger Delta in Mourning

The entire Ofunama community in Egbema Kingdom has been thrown into deep mourning following the painful exit of one of its illustrious sons, Captain Federal Atigbi, whose sudden demise occurred on Thursday, 21st August 2025, after a brief illness at the Central Hospital, Warri.

According to information released by the Atigbi and Karaki families of Ofunama, Captain Federal Atigbi’s passing marks not only a personal loss to his immediate family but also a monumental vacuum in the larger Ofunama community, Egbema Kingdom, and the Niger Delta region at large.

The respected son of the soil, who lived a life of service, leadership, and community dedication, is being remembered as a man whose strength of character and deep love for his people defined his journey on earth. His passing has sent shockwaves across families, friends, associates, and admirers who described his death as “painful, untimely, and irreparable.”

Burial Arrangements

The family has formally announced that the burial ceremony for the late Captain Federal Atigbi will take place on Friday, 5th September 2025, with detailed arrangements to be communicated through the official family burial WhatsApp platform. The Atigbi family noted that preparations are already underway to give him a befitting farewell worthy of his legacy.

Community in Mourning

The atmosphere in Ofunama and Egbema has been heavy with grief as men, women, and youths continue to troop to the family compound to commiserate with the bereaved. Sympathizers from all walks of life have been paying condolence visits, reflecting on the virtues and sacrifices of the departed.

Speaking to Global Egberi Media International, community members described the late Captain as “a man of peace, courage, and uncommon resilience.” His name, they noted, will remain etched in the memory of Egbema people as a son who stood for unity, integrity, and progress.

While the Atigbi and Karaki families bear the direct grief of this loss, the entire Egbema Kingdom and Niger Delta family recognize that this tragedy is collective. His sudden exit has become a painful reminder of the fragility of life and the need for stronger communal support in moments of grief.
