In a significant development that underscores the growing recognition of indigenous contributions to Nigeria's security and economic stability, Senior Comrade Lucky O.O Ukueku, the National President of Niger Delta Youth for Good Governance (NDYFGG) and the First Elected Executive National President of the Presidential Amnesty Scholarship Students Worldwide (NAPASW), has issued a heartfelt commendation to Tantita Security Company for its transformative impact in the Niger Delta region.
Praising Leadership, Results, and Impact
Comrade Ukueku expressed deep admiration for the company’s leadership under High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, whose strategic management has brought about a new era of peace, stability, and economic revival in oil-producing communities.
According to him, Tantita Security Company’s operations have not only curbed crude oil theft and vandalism but also helped boost Nigeria’s oil output, contributing positively to the nation’s revenue profile.
“Tantita’s presence has restored confidence and security across critical pipeline corridors in the Niger Delta,” he said. “This success cannot be overlooked. Their contribution is pivotal, especially at a time when the country needs every drop of revenue to stabilize the economy.”
Commending High Chief Kestin Pondi
Comrade Ukueku also extended special appreciation to High Chief Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Company, for his inclusive and empowering leadership style, which has directly impacted the lives of Niger Delta youths.
“As a youth leader and advocate for development, I am proud of the way Tantita, under the direction of Chief Kestin Pondi, has prioritized the empowerment of our young people. This isn’t just about security — it’s about providing hope, purpose, and opportunity,” he noted.
Appeal to the Federal Government
In what many consider a bold yet timely call, Comrade Ukueku urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to reward the company’s outstanding results with an increased budgetary allocation for its contract.
“Despite not being a direct beneficiary of Tantita's program, I feel compelled to voice this appeal. The Federal Government should not only sustain but increase its support to Tantita Security Company. This would enable them to reach even more youths and fortify the region’s security infrastructure,” he emphasized.
Call for Inclusivity and Expansion
In his concluding remarks, Comrade Ukueku stressed the importance of inclusivity and urged Tantita and the government to expand the program to accommodate non-beneficiary communities and youths who are eager to contribute to regional peace and nation-building.
“Tantita has shown what is possible when local solutions are empowered. It is now time to deepen that success by making it broader and more inclusive,” he added.
A Growing Consensus
Comrade Ukueku’s statement reflects the sentiments of many stakeholders in the Niger Delta who believe that empowering indigenous security outfits with a proven track record is key to lasting peace and development. As Nigeria continues to seek solutions to its economic and security challenges, the call to strengthen homegrown initiatives like Tantita continues to grow louder.
