MRAI’s Baseless Ultimatum to Ese-Odo Chairman: A Reckless Display of Ignorance and Political Desperation

The Executive Chairman of Ese-Odo Local Government Area in Ondo State, High Chief (Hon.) Caleb Ebimobowei Molos, has responded sternly to a controversial and unfounded ultimatum issued by a group identifying itself as the Movement for the Rights of Arogbo Ibe (MRAI), describing the publication as “a reckless display of ignorance and political desperation.”

In a strongly worded rebuttal released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Denis Pounah, on Monday, July 29, 2025, the Chairman condemned MRAI’s allegations of misappropriation of council funds and claims that he was operating under the influence of Snr High Chief Bibopere Ajube, calling them baseless, defamatory, and politically orchestrated.

“MRAI is a Political Tool in Disguise” – Chairman Fires Back

The Chairman's response firmly dismissed the group’s accusations, asserting that there was no iota of truth in their claims. He described the allegation that he was a “Boss in chains” as not only ridiculous but also insulting to the collective intelligence of the Ese-Odo people.

“At no point has my administration acted under the control or coercion of any individual. These claims are nothing but desperate fabrications lacking any form of evidence. I challenge MRAI to provide any proof of these baseless assertions or remain silent forever,” the statement read.

The Chairman expressed deep concern that MRAI, rather than being a civil rights body as it claims, has shown itself to be a politically-motivated group, hell-bent on seeking attention and creating distractions due to its inability to hijack or infiltrate the current administration for selfish gains.

“This Administration Welcomes Accountability, Not Propaganda”

Reaffirming his commitment to transparency and good governance, High Chief Molos reiterated that his administration remains open to constructive criticism, genuine civic engagement, and institutional scrutiny. He encouraged any credible body or agency—including the EFCC, ICPC, and Ondo State House of Assembly—to investigate the council's affairs if there is any cause for concern.

“We have nothing to hide,” the statement emphasized. “But we will not allow propaganda dressed as activism to derail our mission. Our office will never be intimidated by threats or blackmail disguised as public interest.”

Ese-Odo People Stand with Leadership

The Chairman praised the people of Ese-Odo for their understanding and support, saying the community remains politically aware and immune to misinformation and faceless distractions.

“We know these tactics, and the people can see through the deceit. MRAI’s reckless publication is a calculated insult to our people’s intelligence and an assault on peace and progress,” he added.

He concluded by calling on the group to either back its claims with verifiable evidence or desist from further attempts to malign the image of his office and the ongoing development within the local government.

“Any further unsubstantiated attacks will be regarded as a deliberate attempt to defame the Chairman’s office and destabilize the peace of the LGA. MRAI remains as faceless and baseless as the very allegations it has conjured,” the statement concluded.
