Happy New Month Message from Niger Delta Youth Leader, Comr. Lucky O.O Ukueku
As the month of August begins, the National President of Niger Delta Youths For Good Governance and the First Elected Executive National President of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Amnesty Scholarship Students Worldwide, Senior Comrade Lucky O.O Ukueku, has extended his warmest greetings to the resilient and peace-loving people of the Niger Delta region.
In a joint spirit of unity, Comr. Ukueku is joined in his message by Dr. Dennis Burtu Otuaro, Administrator of the PAP, and High Chief Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), as they collectively call for development, peace, and deeper federal engagement in the region.
A Call for Unity and Regional Rebirth
Comr. Ukueku emphasized that the Niger Delta can only attain its full potential if leaders and stakeholders across the region unite with a common purpose. He noted that division has been a hindrance to progress, stressing that "without unity, development will be elusive."
He commended the Federal Government for ongoing and completed projects in the region, especially those geared towards youth empowerment and security. However, he also passionately appealed for more support, citing the Niger Delta’s immense contribution to Nigeria’s oil-rich economy.
Recognizing Empowerment and Security Achievements
The youth leader commended the efforts of Dr. Dennis Burtu Otuaro and High Chief Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi for their tireless commitment to empowering Niger Delta youths and protecting the region’s oil pipelines through Tantita Security Services. According to him, their strategic intervention has yielded positive dividends — from increased oil production to meaningful youth employment and a boost in community confidence.
Comr. Ukueku also appreciated the influence of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo a.k.a. Tompolo, whose leadership and advocacy for peace have helped attract developmental projects and enhance regional security. He stated that Tompolo's legacy remains an inspiration to the youths of the Niger Delta.
Call for Grassroots-Oriented Development
While acknowledging progress made, Comr. Ukueku called on the Federal Government and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to prioritize grassroots development. He stressed the need for human capital investment, skills training, and tangible projects in remote villages that are often forgotten in development plans.
He further called for more visible and inclusive federal government projects, stating that, if the Niger Delta were given its fair share, it could rival global cities like Dubai in terms of infrastructure and economic vibrancy. Comr. Ukueku urges Niger Deltans to promote peace and unity by stopping blackmailing and unnecessary criticism of leaders. Instead, he encourages Niger Deltans to support and pray for their leaders to succeed. He believes that dialogue and engagement are more effective than public criticism, and that building peace among Niger Deltans is essential for the region's progress and the well-being of future generations.
Gratitude to Stakeholders and Supporters
In closing, Comr. Ukueku extended heartfelt appreciation to all stakeholders and members of the Niger Delta Youths For Good Governance platform for their tireless contributions. He encouraged them to remain steadfast in their commitment to transparency, unity, and progress, assuring them that their dedication is recognized and valued.
He wished all citizens of the Niger Delta a peaceful, prosperous, and purpose-driven new month, adding that the collective goal remains a transformed, empowered, and united region.
